Siemens - Voice over IP (VoIP) Solutions

If previous switching technologies mainly based on circuit-switched TDM makes call charges very high prices nowadays, voice over IP technology (VoIP) has helped reduce the price of this service to be true.
A call from Vietnam to America just lost almost freight rates for local, long-distance calls from a Hanoi to HCMC absolutely no cost is the vivid expression of this benefit.

At the main center
In the main centers, depending possibilities of investment, service levels and capacity requirements necessary may choose to use the HiPath 4000 or HiPath PBX HiPath 4000 and HiPath 3000. 3000 has the ability to support many types of terminals as conventional analog phones, phone number, IP telephone, softphone, fax machines ... Branches
At the branch, there are two options when deploying telephone service:
- The branch is equipped with a separate system and HiPath 3000 is linked to major centers via IP network
- The branch uses the IP phone and connected to the HiPath system over the network at the IP Center
The first solution requires investment in the branch a separate system HiPath 3000, with subscriber interface / trunking complete. With this configuration, the branch subscribers can make calls to the public network of branches which through its trunk and ZIP call center / other branches via IP networks. This solution is suitable for branch has the number of users (subscribers) on 10 people and not in the same province / city center.
The second solution requires no additional equipment HiPath 3000 system separate branch. The calls to the public network will be routed first to the center through the IP network, then the Centre occupies the main trunk to connect to the public network of post office. This solution is suitable for the branch under 10 users and often a sales office or representative in the same province / city and main center.

Mobile work beyond the office
The staff working in the office (at home, on business trip outside) can take advantage of the Internet connection on the main center and use the software installed on a computer or PDA to make and receive calls. Meanwhile, users are seen as sitting in the office, can receive calls of colleagues, make calls to or receive calls from customers.

Requirements for infrastructure
Solutions can provide service quality almost equal to the quality of traditional voice services, but also the network infrastructure requirements well enough to be able to bring the best conversation quality
The bandwidth required for each IP voice channels via WAN connections depending codec (codec) voice. Naturally, the better voice quality requires higher bandwidth. With the use of standardized coding best quality G.711 bandwidth requirements for each call is 64Kbps. In other cases, use standard encryption when lower quality connection or insufficient to meet priority needs for other services. The standard can be used are:
- G.723.1 (5.3 / 6.4 Kbps)
- G.729a, G.729AB (8 Kbps)
Currently, data rates in Vietnam for WAN services like VDC MegaWAN pretty good quality with reasonable costs, enabling the deployment of these services easily.

Services used

At the branch and main center, users can use the internal phone to call out to the public network. Setting call by dialing code outside accounting (0) and number needed to call outside.
With select the lowest cost routing (Least Cost Routing), the HiPath system will select services, service providers, user connection costs to ensure the lowest call. The system can automatically insert the header code like 171, 178, 177 to determine the long-distance calls to save on costs.
In the case of calls to the public network at branch HiPath system, the first call is routed over IP networks (for free) to the HiPath system's last branch, then occupied trunk postal branch there to make calls out. Thus, long-distance calls to pay the cost of local calls.
Storage systems
Depending on investor demand, the need for expansion in the future customers can choose the pattern and scale of investment is suitable for a range of products varies from system to services and facilities terminal.
- HiPath 8000: supports up to 100,000 subscribers per system, in accordance with the model home phone service provider
- HiPath 4000: support up to 12,000 subscribers in accordance with the large and very large companies, multi-national companies
- HiPath 3000: support up to 500 subscribers per system, consistent with the medium and small enterprises.
